Abstract

Darya Bikmansurova’s article is written in a form of introduction to her research project, devoted to archival art practices. Being a curator herself, she is enormously interested in the way the artist acts in an archive, how they use archival methods and create their own collections. Artists’ attention to archives is a growing phenomenon which may also illustrate the changing nature of heritage and history and our attempts to deal with it as well as our attitudes towards the past and our own identity. Darya Bikmansurova is a student at European Humanities University’s MA program Cultural Heritage Development.
