  • Alina Kalachova European Humanities University

Abstract

Cultural rights have evolved since 1948 from a basic right to participate in cultural life to a complex system encompassing heritage, identity, and public engagement. Vilnius, with its rich history, demonstrates this dynamic through various initiatives. A 2024 EHU study examines the implementation of cultural rights through the activities of nine local organizations in Vilnius and one in Kaunas, exploring forms of public participation in cultural heritage.
