Abstract

The article by EHU Associate Professor Stsiapan Zakharkevich is devoted to the study of Minsk historical center’s mental image, as well as the features of its modern and historical formation. The core of the study contains mental maps of 51 respondents from different social groups: schoolchildren, students, and professional guides. The study shows that the image of the historical center of Minsk is gradually evolving, and the understanding of its historicity is growing, but at the same time, Minsk still appears as a city whose history is limited to the 19th century.
